The Rocky Mountain Altitude is purpose-built and race-proven. It's an enduro machine for demolishing the trails and riding as fast as possible. Just ask Jesse Melamed. He won the 2022 Enduro World Series on this bike, so you know it's a top competitor. The 2022 Altitude is available in alloy or carbon builds in three sizes, with 27.5" or 29" wheels.
It has the same frame as the Instinct, but with a different upper shock mount and a different size shock. Enjoy 170mm front and 160mm rear travel. You’re positioned directly over the front end for unyielding control. And, you can adjust the geometry to your liking with the RIDE-9 system and 2-position rear axle. What's the purpose of a two-position axle?
The most important thing in choosing a mountain bike is whether it fits you or not. A 2-position rear axle allows the rider to adjust their mountain bike fit even more precisely for the perfect ride. The rear wheel can be moved forward or back by 10mm, which changes the rear-center length. A longer rear center makes it easier to achieve maximum traction when corning, but harder to lift the front wheel to get over obstacles.

Can I adjust the rear center length while out riding?
Technically it's just a few minutes to make the adjustment, but we would recommend adjusting the two position axle only while at home in your garage in between rides. The rear center length isn't designed to be adjusted in the middle of the day.
