ES 2022 Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay

The Instinct Powerplay is made for true exploration. It's powered by a Dyname 4.0 drive system with a 720 Wh battery, for bigger riding days than you ever thought possible. The bike's geometry and kinematics are the same as the non-electric Instinct.
Every size of the Instinct Powerplay is tuned separately on real-world Canadian trails by different sized riders to get the right suspension balance for all types of trails. The bike's geometry is also super adaptable within sizes. It comes with Rocky Mountain's RIDE-4 system and a two-position rear axle.
The Dyname™ 4.0 drive system is an advanced propulsion system that's only available on Rocky Mountain Powerplay bikes. It has up to a 350% max boost with a 700W max power output. Boost levels are customizable and designed for mountain riding speeds specifically to avoid overpowering you at the wrong moment. It includes a specially developed torque sensor to measure chain tension and deliver extra power instantly, right when it's needed.The electric system is also designed to not get in the way of mountain biking, visually or audibly. It's almost silent due to running at low RPMs. There's no cockpit clutter -- check your battery life and adjust the assistance level from the top tube display. Meanwhile, you can easily switch the settings from the barely noticeable 3-button remote on the handlebars.

What's the purpose of a two-position axle?
The most important thing in choosing a mountain bike is whether it fits you or not. A 2-position rear axle allows the rider to adjust their mountain bike fit even more precisely for the perfect ride. The rear wheel can be moved forward or back by 10mm, which changes the rear-center length. A longer rear center makes it easier to achieve maximum traction when corning, but harder to lift the front wheel to get over obstacles.

Can I adjust the rear center length while out riding?
Technically it's just a few minutes to make the adjustment, but we would recommend adjusting the two position axle only while at home in your garage in between rides. The rear center length isn't designed to be adjusted in the middle of the day.

What's the RIDE-4 adjustment system?
The RIDE-4 adjustment system allows you to fine-tune the bike's geometry manually even while on the trail. It requires a single Allen key to work. The system enables four different configurations.

How long does it take to charge the battery on the 2022 Instinct Powerplay?
Manufacturer specs indicate the battery charge time is 3 hours 55 minutes to 100% and 2 hours 55 minutes to 80 with a 4A power supply, or 7 hours 35 minutes to 100% and 6 hours 5 minutes to 80% with a 2A power supply.
