A 29er for mountain and trail domination.

The 2023 Yeti SB140 29" is a bike for the most untamed mountains and trails. You can ride as deep as you want to discover what's on the other side. A new model also means new features. A different frame silhouette with a high-clearance downtube, for - you guessed it - even better ground clearance.

The downtube has protection, too. If you do hit something, there's no damage. Fully enclosed cable routing keeps things tidy while preventing rattling and cable rub. The universal derailleur hanger pivots back and out of the way to protect your derailleur against chain jams.

Standard sized Enduro Max bearings are housed in the pivot linkages instead of the frame. You're much less likely to damage the frame when you have to replace them. Not to mention, the bearings can be found at almost any bike shop, Yeti dealer or not. It's the same with the UDH.

Worried about the bike not fitting you? No need. The frame comes in small to extra-extra-large to fit a wide range of heights. Everyone gets the same level of performance with the size-specific seat tube angles and chainstay lengths. The wishbone shock extender is for optimal clamping and shock compatibility.

Other highlights include DT Swiss XM Wheels, 4 piston brakes, and ODI Elite Pro grips. Plus two new colorways, Sangria and Sage. In addition to the famous Yeti Turquoise and Raw Carbon. That way, your riding companion can match your personality.

Frequently Asked Questions

2023 Yeti SB140 29″

  • What's the difference between TURQ and Carbon Series SB140?

TURQ Series bikes have the highest quality carbon fiber available to optimize their weight, stiffness and durability. Carbon Series bikes have a modified carbon fiber layup. So they have the same stiffness and durability, but they weigh more.

  • What's Switch Infinity technology?

The suspension has a patented translating pivot that switches directions as the bike moves through its travel. This provides anti-squat characteristics for superior pedaling performance. It also maintains re responsive suspension characteristics throughout the travel.

  • Does Switch Infinity require any maintenance?

It has external grease ports to lube the bushings and seals. Re-grease it after 40 hours of riding. You should also clean off any excess dust and dirt throughout the week.

  • What travel fork is this bike made to use?

160mm fork. You can run a 180mm fork. It will slacken the head and seat tube angles and raise the bottom bracket. You can also run a shorter fork. It will steepen the head and seat tube angles and lower the bottom bracket.

  • What's the maximum tire size for this bike?

Up to 2.6". It has great tire clearance but sizes vary by manufacturers, so there's no number that works for all brands.

  • Can I run plus size tires on this bike?

    Yes, up to 2.6".

  • What size rotor fits on the frame?

203mm rotor with a brake adaptor, 180mm rotor without.

  • What cranks and bottom bracket can I use on this bike?

PF92 (92mm) bottom bracket and only wide "q" factor cranks. This bike readily works with Shimano, SRAM, and RaceFace cranks. You have to do a fit check for other brands.

  • What rear wheel axle fits on this bike?

Yeti or Shimano 14mmx12mm E-Thru rear axle.

  • What type of headset does this bike use?

Integrated 41mm/52mm tapered headset. The bearings are contained in the head tube, giving you a lower ride height, more stiffness, and easier installation.

  • Can I use an angleset on this bike?

It's made with an integrated headset with the cups molded into the frame, so you can easily drop the bearings into the cups.

  • Can I run a stealth seat post dropper on this bike?

Yes, it has routing options for stealth only.

  • What chainline was this bike made around?

Boost chainline. You can run others depending on the crank and chainring configuration, but you have to do a clearance check first.

  • What's the largest single-chainring I can use?

It depends on the crank chainline and the chainring shape. Shimano/SRAM Boost cranks: 34t round/32t oval. RaceFace 52mm chainline cranks: 34t round/32t oval. Minimum chainring size: 28t round/30t oval. For more information, ask your local dealer or call Yeti at (303) 278-6909.

  • What size seat post and seat collar does this bike use?

31.6mm seat post and 36.4mm seat collar.

  • What's the longest travel dropper post I can run on this bike?

It depends on your inseam. You can run any travel as long as you're above the minimum insert mark, your tires don't rub on your saddle, and your dropper doesn't bottom out in the frame. low your tire rubs on your saddle. Yeti runs 125mm drop on XS/SM frames, 150mm drop on MD, and 175mm drop on LG/XL.

  • Can I make this a mullet bike with a 27.5" rear wheel?

It's possible but not recommended. It would slacken the head tube angle and seat tube angle and lower the BB too much. If those changes suit your ride style, then go for it.

  • Can I replace or modify any Yeti frame parts?

You should replace them with genuine Yeti parts. Yeti can't qualify and ensure other products are safe to use on its frames. If you use parts from other brands, all warranties will be voided, and you assume full liability.
