Who is the ASR for?

The ASR is built for winning cross-country mountain biking races. It’s designed to shave every possible second off the clock. This also makes it a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a fast, lightweight bike with a full suspension no matter what their reasons are.

Since cross-country racing has moved from mostly spandex-and-gravel to including pretty intense singletrack including jumps, obstacles and chest-high drops, that means this also needs to be a capable mountain bike with a great suspension and frame. The ASR has geometry that holds its own on fast descents and a highly tuned suspension that can take drops and jumps in stride.

Although it's not marketed as a gravel bike, the ASR can also be an awesome choice for rough gravel and mixed-surface rides. It’s not a drop-bar gravel bike. But if you ride washboard roads, loose desert dirt, rocky doubletrack, and unofficial shortcuts, the ASR is a highly efficient, lightweight and fast machine to take you there with a far smoother ride than any rigid or hardtail gravel bike can offer. Use the suspension lockout on smoother sections, open it up when the surface gets rough, and you’ve got a gravel bike and mountain bike in one. We can also help you customize an ASR with new handlebars and stem or other components so you can get exactly the bike you need.

What makes it special?

This is the lightest full-suspension bike Yeti has ever made. The ASR brings back Yeti’s flex-stay suspension design, refined with over two decades of carbon expertise. It also has an ultra-light frame design optimized so that whatever was not needed, was left out. The result is a 115 mm travel bike with incredible small-bump sensitivity, traction, and efficiency for the majority of the trail, that won't hesitate when faced with technical features.

Frame options

Like other Yeti bikes, the SB120 comes in two frame options: Turq, and C series. Both are advanced carbon frames but there are some differences.

The TURQ Series is Yeti’s premium carbon layup. It's the lightest, stiffest, and tuned for the best ride feel.

The C Series is a smidge heavier carbon layup with the same geometry and suspension design. It's the more affordable option and a still a very high quality frame.

Weight

We'll say it again, the ASR is the lightest full-suspension bike Yeti has ever produced. Depending on the build, complete weights start at just under 23 lbs / 10.4 kg. Even the more accessible C-Series builds stay competitive at around 26 lbs / 11.8 kg. A TURQ frame weighs in at only about 4 lbs / 1.8 kg on its own! Exact weights will vary by size, of course.

Build kits overview

Each Turq build kit starts with "T" and each C-series frame build starts with a "C". From max spec to entry level, the ASR build kits are as follows:

• ASR T3 X0 AXS Transmission – A high-end kit centered on SRAM’s X0 AXS wireless drivetrain, matched with SID Ultimate suspension. A balance of cutting-edge tech and race weight. Official weight 24.33 lb
• ASR T2 X0/90 Transmission – A solid race build that saves money with alloy wheels and simpler brakes. RockShox SID Ultimate suspension, SRAM X0/90 Transmission, DT Swiss XM1700 wheels, SRAM Motive Bronze brakes. Official weight 24.46 lb
• ASR C3 GX AXS Transmission – Affordable C-series frame with wireless shifting. Official weight 26.09 lb
• ASR C2 90 Transmission – The entry point to the ASR lineup. Affordable C-Series frame with SRAM 90 Transmission and dependable alloy components. A race-ready platform without the premium price. Official weight 26.48 lb
• ASR Frame only – TURQ carbon frame, includes SIDLuxe Ultimate rear shock, headset, and axle. The C-series frame is not available as a frame-only option (you can always buy a C2 and sell the components...) Official weight 4.03 lb
