This 2025 Orbea Oiz M21 in Seaweed Carbon View/Spaceship Green is a lightweight carbon cross-country bike designed to move quickly across technical terrain while remaining capable enough for demanding trail rides. The medium OMR carbon frame pairs 120mm of front and rear travel with 29-inch wheels, giving the Oiz a fast, efficient feel without limiting its confidence on rough descents. This demo bike follows the 2025 M21 platform and includes one intentional component change: a SRAM GX carbon crankset replaces the stock GX alloy crankset.

Orbea builds the Oiz M21 around OMR carbon front and rear triangles with a FiberLink upper linkage and molded chainstay protection. The Advanced Dynamics UFO flexstay suspension system controls 120mm of rear travel while reducing hardware and maintaining efficient pedaling characteristics. The result is a responsive chassis that accelerates quickly, tracks accurately, and remains composed through roots, rocks, and repeated trail impacts.
A RockShox SID Select fork provides 120mm of travel using a DebonAir+ spring, RL damper, and 35mm stanchions. Its chassis balances steering precision with low weight, making it well suited to modern cross-country riding. The rear suspension uses a RockShox SIDLuxe Select+ shock in a 190 x 45mm configuration. Both suspension units connect to Orbea’s OC Squidlock MP11 three-position remote lockout, allowing the rider to change support levels directly from the handlebar.
The drivetrain uses SRAM GX Eagle mechanical 12-speed shifting. A GX Eagle shifter and matching rear derailleur work with an XG-1275 cassette offering a broad 10-52-tooth range. This gearing supports steep climbing, fast transitions, and long days with varied elevation. The original alloy crankset has been replaced with a SRAM GX carbon crankset, providing a lighter premium upgrade while retaining the stock 32-tooth chainring and SRAM DUB threaded bottom bracket interface.
Shimano Deore M6100 two-piston hydraulic disc brakes provide predictable speed control with a straightforward, reliable design. Shimano rotors support consistent braking performance for technical cross-country riding and rolling trail terrain. The brake package complements the bike’s focus on efficiency while still supplying the modulation needed for loose corners and sustained descents.
OQUO Mountain Performance MP28Pro wheels feature a 28mm internal rim width, Boost spacing, and an XD driver at the rear. The wheelset supports Maxxis Rekon Race 29 x 2.4-inch tires with EXO casing and tubeless-ready construction. This combination emphasizes speed and low rolling resistance while offering enough volume and grip for modern cross-country courses and everyday trail riding.
The cockpit consists of an OC Mountain Performance MP30 handlebar, measuring 760mm wide, paired with an OC Mountain Performance MP21 stem. Orbea’s SIC sealed internal cable routing sends the cables and hoses through the headset for a clean appearance, while the Spin Block limiter restricts excessive bar rotation. Lock-on OC grips complete the front contact point.
An OC Mountain Control MC22 dropper post provides adjustable saddle height and is controlled by a lever integrated with the Squidlock MP11 suspension remote. Depending on frame size, the post is available with 125mm, 150mm, or 170mm of drop. A fi’zi:k Vento Argo X5 saddle with aluminum rails provides a performance-focused seating position suited to racing and long-distance riding.
The Seaweed Carbon View/Spaceship Green finish gives this medium Oiz M21 a distinctive appearance that highlights the carbon frame construction. With its OMR chassis, 120mm RockShox suspension package, GX Eagle drivetrain, OQUO wheels, and upgraded GX carbon crankset, this bike offers a compelling combination of speed and trail capability.
