Orbea Warranty

Orbea Warranty

Published November 21, 2025 | Updated November 21, 2025

Orbea offers a lifetime frame warranty that requires registration, and a two-year limited warranty that applies automatically. Below is a simplified overview to help you understand how it all works. For full details, always consult Orbea’s official warranty policy.

Lifetime Frame & Fork Warranty

Orbea provides a free lifetime warranty on all their frames and rigid forks for the original owner. You need to activate this warranty by registering your bike or frame within 30 days of buying it.

Register your Orbea bike

To qualify:

  • You must be the original owner
  • You must register the bike or frame within 30 days of purchase
  • You must have your proof of purchase (invoice/receipt)

What’s covered under the lifetime warranty:

  • Breakage or cracking of the frame or rigid fork
  • Paint, varnish, and corrosion coverage extended by 1 year, for a total of up to 3 years

For full-suspension bikes, the frame means the front triangle, chainstays, and seatstays. Suspension parts, hardware, and components are not included.

This lifetime warranty is not transferable to a second owner.

2-Year Warranty

Every Orbea product purchased through an authorized dealer comes with a two-year limited warranty, even if you don't register it. This warranty also transfers to future owners if you sell it.

Proof of the original purchase from an authorized dealer is still required, meaning if you buy an Orbea bike secondhand, make sure you get either the original receipt or a copy of it.

What it covers:

  • Defects in materials and workmanship
  • Paint, varnish, and corrosion defects
  • E-bike battery and electrical component defects
  • Shipping to and from the manufacturer, if the bike is brought to the original dealer for warranty service

This warranty also applies to second owners — however, without registration, the lifetime coverage does not extend beyond the two-year period.

Exclusions

The lifetime warranty and the two year warranty have the same exclusions. Neither warranty applies to:

  • Normal wear items such as bearings, brake pads, cables, grips, spokes, rubber seals, cassette, rotors, etc
  • Problems caused by negligence, improper use of the bike, or faulty maintenance
  • Crash or impact damage
  • Lack of maintenance or incorrect assembly
  • Modifications of the frame or electrical system
  • Problems caused by non-Orbea accessories or third-party modifications
  • Heat damage
  • Any bike involved in a traffic accident
  • Normal capacity loss of ebike batteries

Labor to disassemble, reassemble, or replace components is always paid for by the owner.

How to Submit a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim:

  1. Start with the dealer where you purchased your Orbea (such as Airpark Bike Co).
  2. If returning to your original dealer isn’t practical, you may go to another official Orbea dealer (they may charge a handling fee).
  3. If no dealer is accessible, you can contact Orbea directly for instructions.

You must provide:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Registration confirmation (for lifetime warranty claims)

Orbea’s technicians will evaluate whether the issue qualifies for repair or replacement. If an identical frame is no longer available, Orbea will replace it with a similar model or a comparable alternative.

If the replacement frame requires different components due to compatibility changes, the cost of those parts and installation is your responsibility.

Shipping and Labor Costs

If You bring the bike back to the dealer where it was originally purchased for warranty coverage, Orbea will cover shipping. If the claim is handled through a different dealer or directly with Orbea, you may be charged for shipping.

Labor for disassembly, reassembly, and any incompatible parts is always paid by the owner.

Tips to Protect Your Coverage

  • Register your bike within 30 days to activate lifetime coverage
  • Keep your purchase receipt somewhere safe, and make a copy of it
  • Service your bike regularly and follow Orbea’s maintenance instructions
  • Avoid modifications or aftermarket electrical changes
  • Have your bike professionally assembled (taken care of if you buy from us)
