Arizona's First Gravity Flow Trail System Opens in Prescott

Published June 21, 2024 | Updated August 14, 2025

The long-awaited Bean Peaks Gravity Flow Trail System is now open in Prescott just 1.5 hours north of The Valley. It’s 6.5 miles of singletrack with beginner, intermediate, and advanced lines. You can access them from the White Spar campground parking lot in the Prescott National Forest, less than a mile from downtown.

Bean Peaks Gravity Flow Trails are one-way, bike-specific tracks with tabletops, rollers, berms, and technical rock features. And this is only phase one of three. Phase two construction starts in the fall and phase three will be underway next year. When it’s all done, there’ll be 17 miles of trails and two new trailheads, along with 12 miles of restored paths and more eco-friendly routes for dirt bikes, ATVs, and 4x4s.

Prescott is already a hot spot for mountain bikers with tons of scenic areas to check out. The Spence Basic Trail System is a 4.5 singletrack loop through stunning pines and granite boulders. Or for a longer ride, the Prescott Circle Trail wraps around the city with over 50 miles of mixed landscape. There’s also the Lynx Lake Recreation Area in Prescott Valley and the Mingus Mountain Trail in Dewey. They're all great, but can they compete with Bean Peaks? You be the judge!
