Learn More About the 2025 Ibis HD6 GX AXS
If you’re looking for a bike that handles technical trails and steep descents without holding back, the 2025 Ibis HD6 GX AXS deserves a close look. The frame is carbon, which keeps the weight down but doesn't sacrifice strength or stiffness. That means you'll feel confident steering through rough terrain with precise control.
Suspension
The suspension setup is focused on taking big hits and smoothing out choppy trails. Up front, there's a Fox Float 38 Factory fork with 180mm of travel that absorbs the bumps but doesn't feel mushy. At the rear, the Fox Float X2 Factory shock offers 165mm of travel. Together, they keep the bike stable and responsive whether you're charging downhill or working through tricky sections.
Wheels and Tires
Wheels matter, and Ibis went with a mixed setup here: a 29” front wheel paired with a 27.5” rear. This combo balances traction and agility so you get grip where you need it but still have nimbleness in tight spots. The Maxxis tires reinforce that—an Assegai 29”x2.5” up front for maximum grip, with a faster-rolling DHR 27.5”x2.4” out back to keep things lively and provide solid braking traction.
Brakes
You'll also find a set of SRAM Code RSC 4-piston brakes with 200mm Centerline rotors. These brakes bring strong, reliable modulation to control your speed effectively, especially on long descents where heat build-up can be an issue.
Drivetrain
The drivetrain is all SRAM GX Eagle, wireless and smooth thanks to the AXS POD controller. The 10-52T cassette covers climbing steep pitches or sprinting flat sections with a wide gear range. The crankset and chain are built tough to transfer power without energy loss, and the MRP AMg SE chain guide keeps you from losing your chain when the trail gets rough. The Eagle groupset is lightweight, durable, and easy to use with a high gear range and plenty of component options for switching out individual components, even including different colored cassettes.
Handlebar and Controls
Up top, you will find an 800mm wide Ibis Hi Fi handlebar that feels solid and comfortable in your hands, paired with a stem that varies length by frame size to suit your fit perfectly. The Lizard Skin Charger EVO grips add some tack and comfort for those longer rides, while a Cane Creek 40 headset keeps steering smooth and precise.
Saddle and Dropper Post
Adjusting saddle height on the fly is possible with a Bike Yoke Revive dropper post. It comes in different travel lengths depending on your frame size to give you the drop you need. The WTB Silverado saddle keeps things comfy when you're logging long hours on the trail.
This bike is made for riders who want to push their limits on trails that demand control, confidence, and durability without compromise. Whether you're climbing all day or bombing downhill, the HD6 GX AXS is ready to keep pace and support your ride.
