The 2026 Ibis Ripley SL frame is built for riders who want speed, efficiency, and trail capability all in one lightweight package. This bike keeps the legendary Ripley personality but trims things down to create one of the lightest and most responsive trail bikes Ibis has ever produced. It is quick on climbs, playful on descents, and ready for long days exploring singletrack.
The frame is made using a carbon fiber monocoque construction that is proudly manufactured in the United States. The result is an impressively light and strong chassis. The Ripley SL frame weighs about 5 pounds with the shock installed in a medium size. The frame alone weighs just over four pounds. That low weight makes the bike feel lively and efficient whenever you start pedaling.
Suspension travel is tuned for fast trail riding. The rear suspension delivers 117mm of smooth travel using a 210mm x 50mm shock. Up front the Ripley SL is designed around a 130mm fork, but it is also compatible with a 120mm fork if you want an even lighter cross-country focused setup. This balance of travel creates a bike that climbs like a rocket and still feels confident when the trail gets rough.
The Ripley SL rolls on fast 29 inch wheels. These wheels carry speed easily and help the bike glide over rocks and roots. The frame also has clearance for up to 2.4 inch tires. That means you can run fast rolling tires for racing or more aggressive tread for technical terrain.
Modern trail standards are used throughout the frame. Boost spacing with a 148mm rear axle and 110mm front axle creates a strong and stiff wheel platform. The frame uses a threaded BSA 73mm bottom bracket. This classic design is reliable and easy to service. A 31.6mm seatpost diameter allows for modern dropper posts with plenty of travel.
The Ripley SL frame is also designed to be practical on real trails. The integrated upper chain guide keeps the chain secure when the terrain gets rough. The rear brake mount supports a 160mm rotor and can handle up to a 180mm rotor for stronger stopping power.
Ibis also built clever storage directly into the frame. The STOW internal frame storage system lets you carry tools and ride essentials inside the downtube. Small storage bags keep everything organized and quiet while you ride. The frame also offers excellent bottle capacity. A size small fits a 26oz bottle. All other sizes can carry two 22oz bottles inside the front triangle.
Durability is another key feature. Molded rubber protectors cover the downtube, chainstay, seatstay, and lower link areas. These guards protect the frame from trail impacts and chain slap. The frame is also compatible with the Ibis Truckee shuttle guard for extra protection during shuttle laps.
The Ripley SL frame supports both mechanical and wireless drivetrains. Riders who choose mechanical shifting can use the optional external cable guide. This makes the bike easy to build and easy to maintain.
Three color options are available including Gold Rush, Tahoe Blue, and Raw Carbon. Sizes range from Small to Extra Large with an additional Extra Medium option for precise fit.
Like all Ibis frames, the Ripley SL comes with a lifetime warranty and lifetime replacement on bushings. It is a frame designed to go fast, ride hard, and last for years of trail adventures.
