Learn More About the 2027 Ibis Ripmo Deore
The 2027 Ibis Ripmo Deore is the workhorse of the carbon Ripmo family: a high-capability chassis paired with parts chosen for dependable performance and straightforward ownership. It keeps the same 150mm dw-link rear suspension, 160mm fork target, size-specific geometry, wheel-size adaptability, and internal storage found on the more expensive builds. The difference is emphasis. This version is for riders who want to spend their money on the frame and suspension platform first, then ride hard without worrying about batteries, fragile electronics, or prestige labels.
Shimano Deore shifting suits that mission. The wide-range 12-speed system offers the climbing gears needed for long technical ascents and the durability expected from a trail bike that will see dust, rocks, and repeated hard use. Four-piston Deore brakes add strong, predictable stopping power for sustained descents. The package is uncomplicated in the best way: familiar controls, widely available service parts, and performance that remains consistent when conditions turn ugly.
Underneath the build is the current Ripmo carbon frame with 150mm of rear travel and a progressive suspension layout developed to work well with both air and coil shocks. The bike is designed around a 160mm fork and a 64.5-degree head angle, giving the front end enough composure for steep chutes and fast rough sections without turning the Ripmo into a sluggish gravity sled. Size-specific kinematics and chainstay lengths help preserve the lively, efficient feel for riders at both ends of the sizing chart.
Wheel sizing is also tailored by frame size. Small and Medium bikes arrive in an MX configuration with a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel, while Extra Medium, Large, and Extra Large use dual 29-inch wheels. A flip chip lets every size run either rear-wheel format, so riders can prioritize rollover speed, cornering stability, or a more maneuverable back end. Clearance for tires up to 2.5 inches gives plenty of room for aggressive trail setups.
The latest Ripmo adds useful real-world features that matter on long rides. Internal downtube storage hides tools, snacks, and spares inside the frame, with Cotopaxi bags included to keep everything organized. A threaded 73mm BSA bottom bracket and SRAM UDH hanger simplify service and replacement. Bottle capacity scales from 22 ounces on Small to 26 ounces on the other sizes, and Ibis supports the chassis with a lifetime frame and wheel warranty plus lifetime replacement suspension bushings.
The Deore Ripmo makes a strong case for choosing the practical build and simply riding more. It delivers the same capable carbon platform, modern geometry, and adaptable wheel configuration as the premium versions, while using a drivetrain and brake package that is easy to understand and easy to maintain. For riders who want a legitimate all-mountain bike for big trail days, rough descents, and everyday abuse, this build puts the priorities in exactly the right order.
