Who is the SB120 for?

It's an all-purpose, quiver-of-one bike for people who like more flowy trail styles with smaller obstacles as compared to aggressive downhill style. It's a good bike for a wide variety of terrain, including smaller jumps and stuff like that. It's not pinholed like a race specific cross country bike. If you would otherwise buy a trail bike, but want something a little bit lighter and more responsive, the SB120 might be the perfect bike for you.

What makes the SB120 special compared to other cross country bikes?

The suspension design is so good that you can ride it on a wide variety of trails, while the lower amount of travel still makes it efficient. So basically it's a completely viable choice for your only bike instead of a trail bike.

SB120 Frame Options

Like other Yeti bikes, the SB120 comes in two frame options: Turq, and C series. Both are advanced carbon frames but there are some differences.

The TURQ Series is Yeti’s premium carbon layup: lightest, stiffest, and tuned for the best ride feel. Paired with Factory or Ultimate suspension and higher-end drivetrains.

The C Series is slightly heavier carbon layup (a few hundred grams) but the same geometry and suspension design. It's the more affordable option and a still a very high quality frame.

What is “LR” In the Model Name?

“LR" stands for "Lunch Ride," referring to Yeti employee's lunch break rides on their local trails. The LR builds swap the fork from a 130mm travel fork to 140 mm. That extra 7-ish percent slackens the head angle, adds front-end cushion, and gives the SB120 a sliiiightly more aggressive feel. Great for a 1-bike setup to hit all the trails, which is the special superpower of this lightweight mountain bike.

SB120 Build Kits Overview

• SB120 T3 X0 AXS TURQ – Zero compromises. The lightest frame and the smoothest Fox Factory suspension combined with a fully wireless SRAM X0 AXS drivetrain. That means crisp, cable-free shifting, the best suspension feel, and lower weight.
• SB120 LR T3 X0 AXS TURQ – Zero-compromises Lunch Ride setup. The fork is swapped for a 140 mm RockShox Pike/Super Deluxe setup to gain a bit more “trail bike muscle”.
• SB120 T2 X0/90 TURQ – A little more affordable than T3 while keeping Factory suspension feel. Fox Factory suspension with SRAM X0/90 drivetrain and G2 RSC brakes. 
• SB120 LR T2 X0/90 TURQ – Lunch Ride setup, RockShox Ultimate suspension with 140 mm fork, SRAM X0/90 drivetrain, and Motive Silver brakes.
• SB120 C3 GX AXS – Top-tier build kit out of those with a C-series frame. It has wireless shifting at a lower cost. Comes with Fox Performance suspension, SRAM GX AXS drivetrain, G2 R brakes. Best if you want wireless shifting but are on a budget.
• SB120 C2 90 – Entry-level spec with Fox Performance suspension, SRAM Eagle 90 drivetrain, and G2 R brakes. These are still high quality components designed to carry you through hundreds of rides if you don't need the absolute best for, say, racing.
• SB120 LR C2 90 – Entry-level LR build with RockShox 140 mm fork, SRAM Eagle 90 drivetrain, and Motive Bronze brakes. Gives you the slacker LR handling at the lowest price.
• SB120 Frame Only – Build it exactly how you want. Only the TURQ frame is available in a frame-only option. Comes with a Factory Float shock.
