We ship bikes fully assembled in a very large bike box, so there’s very little setup required when it arrives. Bikes are set up in store by our expert mechanics prior to packaging for shipping.
How to Set Up Your Bike
Carefully open the box and remove the packaging. Install the front wheel and straighten the handlebar. You'll also need pedals unless you bought pedals with your bike. The suspension (if there is one) will be pre-tuned to your weight. You should be able to ride within a few minutes of opening the box.

Is there anything you want to change on this bike? We can customize the bike for you before shipping it out, just get in touch. That includes anything from basic changes like swapping out the handlebars or saddle, to complex makeovers like a drivetrain swap.

The 2022 Niner Rip E9 3-Star is built for those who want a little extra help on tough mountain trails without compromising on performance or durability. The bike is built on a hydroformed 6061-T6 aluminum frame that strikes a strong, yet lightweight balance. The shaping technique adds stiffness exactly where the bike needs it most, and welded construction means it's tough enough to handle aggressive trail riding without worry.
The bike is equipped with SRAM SX drivetrain, tuned for e-bike power. It's built to handle the punch from the Bosch motor, giving you smooth and reliable gear changes whether you're grinding up steep climbs or cruising through rollers.
Speaking of power, the Rip E9 3-Star uses Bosch's Gen4 Performance Line CX motor. Known for smooth and consistent assistance, this motor helps you attack climbs and challenging terrain with less strain but plenty of control. The motor tucks neatly into the frame, keeping the bike looking clean and balanced.
You won't want to stop because of battery life either. The bike carries a Bosch Powertube 625Wh battery, housed inside the frame for a sleek look and better weight distribution. This high-capacity battery is ready for longer rides so you can explore more without constantly hunting for a charge.
Taming rough trails is easier thanks to the suspension setup. Up front sits a RockShox Zeb R fork with 160mm of travel. It smooths out bumps and impacts with adjustability that lets you dial in the feel to your liking. At the rear, a Fox Float X Performance Evol shock offers 150mm of travel and two position settings, keeping the ride balanced without sacrificing responsiveness.
The wheels come from Stans Flow Tubeless. They're built to withstand aggressive riding but are still light enough to keep you nimble. Tubeless compatibility means you can run lower tire pressures to boost grip and cut down on flats. Speaking of tires, the bike pairs a Schwalbe Eddy Current EVO 2.4 in the front with an Addix Hans Dampf 2.35 in the rear. The former excels at cornering, and the latter rolls fast while maintaining traction.
You'll also find a set of SRAM Guide RE hydraulic disc brakes. They offer strong, consistent braking and fine control when descending steep or technical sections.
Comfort hasn't been overlooked. The Niner custom TR saddle with CR-MO rails is shaped for longer rides, offering support and padding in all the right places so you can stay focused on the trail instead of your seat.
