The 2025 Santa Cruz Bronson 5 C R steps up as a strong all-rounder for trail riders who want to tackle everything from steep climbs to gnarly descents without hesitation. Precision and durability are baked right into the frame’s geometry, tuned so you can flow through technical sections without feeling like you have to hold back.
Out back, the FOX Float Rhythm shock balances plushness with efficiency. It swallows impacts but keeps your pedal strokes effective, so you won’t feel bogged down when the trail points uphill. Up front, the RockShox Lyrik Base with 160mm of travel feels confident on rough terrain and tight lines. Its DebonAir spring smooths out hits, while the Motion Control damper keeps you planted whether you’re charging or climbing.
The SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain provides fast, crisp and reliable gear changes. The wide 11-50T cassette means you have the right gear ready whether you’re grinding up switchbacks or chasing speed on flats. The SRAM Descendant Eagle crankset with its 32T chainring transfers every ounce of power straight to the trail.
The wheelset mixes two different big and responsive tires to maximize traction. Up front, the Maxxis Assegai 29 x 2.5” grips loose dirt and rocks with aggressive 3C MaxxGrip rubber wrapped in tough EXO+ casing. On the back, the Maxxis Minion DHR II 27.5 x 2.4” holds lines through corners and brakes hard without giving up durability thanks to the 3C MaxxTerra compound and EXO+ casing. Both wheels ride on SRAM hubs laced to either Reserve 30|TR AL or Raceface AR30 rims. The whole package feels solid without unnecessary weight.
