Why is there a V1 and V2 for the 2026 ASR T2 X0/90

Following the release of the mechanical Transmission drivetrains from SRAM in March, 2025, Yeti made a mid-year update to the T2 spec. In April 2025, they updated the 2025 ASR T2 X01 to a combination of SRAM X0 and SRAM 90 components. They then referred to this new T2 X0/90 spec a 2026 model. We are labeling this spec as V1 (version 1) on our website. 

Then in September, 2025, Yeti did a full model year 2026 release and made further updates to the 2026 X0/90 spec. They included carbon wheels, swapped the Fox Transfer dropper for a Crank Brothers Highline dropper, and introduced the option for no remote lockouts on the suspension. They also introduced a new color, Purple Haze, and discontinued the Spruce color. We are labeling this spec as V2 (version 2) on our website.

Built around a 120mm / 115mm travel platform, the ASR pairs a RockShox SID Ultimate 3P Remote fork with the RockShox SIDluxe Ultimate 3P Remote shock to create a cohesively tuned suspension system aimed at uncompromising efficiency. The 3P remote setup allows for instant on-the-fly adjustments between Open, Pedal, and Lock modes, ensuring that racers and fast-paced trail riders can tailor suspension support to terrain transitions without hesitation. The fork’s chassis maintains precise steering characteristics during technical climbs and fast singletrack, while the rear suspension’s controlled leverage curve preserves traction under aggressive efforts.

Rolling on DT Swiss XRC1700 carbon wheels, the ASR T2 X0/90 V2 achieves a responsive, lightweight feel that enhances both climbing agility and high-speed stability. These 30mm internal-width rims provide an optimal platform for modern XC tire profiles, promoting improved cornering support and a supple ride feel over chattery trail surfaces. Wrapped in a Maxxis Rekon 2.4 EXO front tire and a Maxxis Rekon Race 2.4 EXO rear tire, the bike balances grip and rolling speed. The Rekon front delivers predictable traction on loose-over-hard terrain, while the Rekon Race rear reduces rolling resistance for race-day acceleration and efficiency.

At the heart of the drivetrain is SRAM’s Eagle 90 Transmission group, the pinnacle of cross-country shifting technology. With a direct-mount derailleur design that eliminates the traditional hanger, shifting becomes more precise, more consistent under load, and significantly more robust in demanding conditions. Up front, a Race Face Next SL 35 x 740mm carbon handlebar strikes a balance between precision steering and vibration damping, while the Bike Yoke Barkeeper 55mm stem keeps steering inputs responsive and direct. A Cane Creek 70 Hellbender Lite headset provides long-lasting smoothness and weather resistance, complimenting the bike’s overall durability. The WTB Solano Chromoly saddle adds ergonomic comfort for long race efforts and multi-hour training rides.
