Bronson Model Years and Versions

Since its debut in 2013, the Santa Cruz Bronson has steadily been upgraded to handle more aggressive and technical trails. The original Bronson launched with 27.5" wheels and 150mm of VPP travel. Bronson 2 brought updated geometry for better descending. Version 3 introduced the lower-link VPP layout and XS size. The fourth generation switched to a mixed-wheel setup (29" front, 27.5" rear), slacker geometry, and enhanced downhill capability. The current Bronson 5 continues with MX wheels, drops the XS size option, and adds longer reach and chainstays for better balance, along with a further refined suspension.

FAQs

How much does the Bronson weigh?

Depending on the build kit, the Bronson weighs in at somewhere from around 33. lbs / 15. kg to 34.8 lbs / 15.8 kg. Note that the weights aren't exact because things like the exact weight of oils can vary, and of course different frame sizes weigh different amounts.

What are the frame options for the Bronson?

The Bronson is available in two carbon frame options: Carbon C and the higher-grade Carbon CC. You can think of it like this, the C frame is already excellent and the CC frame is pretty much the best money can buy.
